CLUB AWARDS
A Mayflower Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Honorary Certificate is given at our Annual Meeting each year to those people whose dog has been recognized by the AKC as having earned their Championship, or any Performance Event title. This award is given only if the championship or title is earned after becoming a member of Mayflower.

The following Trophies are Awarded Annually at our Friday evening Banquet at the Corgi Specialty. They are our highest cumulative Awards (many AKC titles over many events):
The Lila Wolfman Achievement Award was presented for the first time in 1991. Lila, another Charter Member, was a wonderful friend to us all, and served as our treasurer for nine years. This award is given to honor any member-owned Corgi who has excelled in three or more levels of AKC competition/achievement. The dog must have attained an AKC Championship, earned an AKC Obedience title and completed the requirements for an AKC Tracking, Herding or Agility Title. The dog must have demonstrated excellence in all three of these areas – Breed, Obedience and Performance Events.
The VPA (Versatile Performance Award) and the VPAX (Versatile Performance Award Excellent) was instituted for the first time in 1996. This Award is for those member-owned Corgis that have accumulated titles in a number of areas: Obedience, Tracking, herding and Agility. Points are given for each title earned: for the VPA Award, 12 points are needed in two Performance Areas, and for the VPAX Award, 18 points are needed in three Performance Areas. Points are also given for earning a Canine Good Citizen Award, Therapy Dog International, Delta Society Pet Partner and for Documented Pet Therapy Work. It is not necessary for the Corgi to have earned his Championship to quality for this Award.
Our Distinguished Service Award is also awarded at the Annual Specialty Banquet for exceptional service to Mayflower.
