A Letter From Your Pet In Heaven
by Author Unknown
To my dearest family,
Some things I’d like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
That I arrived okay.
I’m writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there’s no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
Every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
And He said, “I welcome you.
It’s good to have you back again,
You were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They’ll be here later on.”
God gave me a list of things,
That he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
Was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night
The day’s chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you…
In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth,
And all those loving years,
Because you are only human,
They are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry:
It does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be know flowers,
Unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
All that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
You wouldn’t understand.
But one thing is for certain,
Though my life on earth is o’er.
I’m closer to you now,
Than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you
And many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
By taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy
And I’d like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
The world will give to you.
If you can help somebody
Who’s in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night…
“My day was not in vain.”
And now I am contented…
That my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.
God says: “If you meet somebody
Who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
As on your way you go.
When your walking down the street
With me on your mind;
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.”
“And when it’s time for you to go…
from that body to be free.
Remember you’re not going …
You’re coming here to me.”
Loyalty
by Unknown
You can't buy loyalty, they say
I bought it though, the other day;
You can't buy friendship, tried and true,
Well just the same, I bought that too.
I made my bid, and on the spot
Bought love and faith and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The purchase price was pretty small.
I bought a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start.
If you think these things are not for sale,
Buy a brown-eyed puppy with a stump for a tail.
Man and His Dog
by Siegfried Sassoon WW1 author
Who's this - alone with stone and sky?
It's only my old dog and I
It's only him;it's only me;
Alone with stone and grass and tree.
What share we most - we two together?
Smells, and awareness of the weather.
What is it makes us more than dust?
My trust in him; in me his trust.
Here's anyhow one decent thing
That life to man and dog can bring;
One decent thing, remultiplied
Til earth's last dog and man have died.
Request from Rainbow Bridge
by Constance Jenkins
Weep not for me though I am gone; into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will but not for long, upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest. There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was blessed; for all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath; remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death, but celebrate my life.
Things we can learn from our Dog!
by unknown
1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
2. To allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
3. When loved ones come home, always run and greet them.
4. When it’s in your best interest, always practice obedience.
5. Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
6. Take naps and always stretch before rising.
7. Run, romp and play daily.
8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
9. Be loyal.
10. Never pretend to be something you’re not.
11. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
12. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
13. Delight in simple joys of a long walk.
14. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
15. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
16. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
17. When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
18. No matter how often you are criticized, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout. Run right back and make friends.
