Judge: Ellen Childs XIII Maples

Many thanks to my fellow Mayflies for inviting me to judge the 2008 Fall Match. Also, a big thank you to the club for the bagful of wonderful goodies! The entry was not big, probably due to a spell of very rainy weather (or maybe the judge?), but even so the depth of quality was high. I was impressed by overall good movement, especially side movement. This was a very close decision between my BEST PUPPY and BEST ADULT. I gave the match today to the adult based on her slightly more feminine head. I'd like to own both of them.

PUPPY DOGS, 3-6 MONTHS

1. JORASH KAYBE MARIO (Jorash Foxway Alternative Rock x Kaybe Dreams A?Brewin) Breeders/Owners: Ellen Schusterson & Sherryn Viebrock. This red and white baby moved out with a purpose, and held his topline on the move (even with his owner running backwards, also with a purpose! A cute head and altogether a tight little package.

2. PEMBURY HOUSE ARC DE TRIUMPH (Ch. Aberlee Bransby x Ch.Pembury House La Prierre) Breeders/Owners: Sandi Eaton, Deborah Beal, Patti Bittles. Another attractive red and white boy with a pretty head and more bone than the above. Out-moved by #1, and topline not as level.

PUPPY DOGS, 9-12 MONTH

1. MILESTONE BEDTIME STORY (Ch. Sandfox Medaglia D?Oro x Ch. Milestone Doubles Partner) Breeders: Carolann Van Wyen & Donna Gilbert. Owners: Donna Gilbert & Heidi Johnston. A light sable dog with a pretty head, also a good mover with a level topline. Rather short in upper arm, which gives the impression of a short neck.

DOGS, 12-18 MONTHS

1. JORASH FOXWAY COUNTRY ROCK (Ch, Jorash Foxway Graceland x Ch.Jorash Foxway Sweet Spot) Breeder: Ellen Schusterson. Owners: Ellen Schusterson & Toni Mapes. This red and white boy has a very pretty head with beautiful eyes and good pigment. Also a good mover with level topline?pushed for Best in Match

1. LIONCREST LEGENDARY CHARMER (Ch. Tallyrand Archangel Michael ROM x Ch. Festiniog She?s My Dinah Lee RN, TD) Breeders/Owners: Margaret, Tara, Clare and John Daly. Another red and white dog with correct proportions. Very well presented with good side movement. Rather close in front, and I prefer a darker eye.

PUPPY BITCHES, 3-6 MONTHS

1. HERONSWAY GLENMOOR THAT GIRL (Ch. Aberlee Storm Force ROMX x Ch. Heronsway Patriot?s Dream) Breeders/Owners: Anne Bowes & Pamela Davies. Red and white with a very pretty head and good pigment. Again, good side movement with level topline.

2. PHOEBE (Ch. Aberlee Bransby x Ch. Pembury House La Priere) Breeders/Owners: Deborah Beal, Sandi Eaton, Patti Bittles. Another red and white "together" puppy. Preferred the head type of #1.

3. JORASH KAYBE VIVA (Jorash Foxway Alternative Rock x Kaybe Dreams A?Brewin) Breeders/Owners: Ellen Schusterson & Sherryn Viebrock. This red and white baby was the best mover in the class (with owner's style of running backwards continuing to improve). At this stage, she lacks the forechest of the 1st two, and just not as "together."

4. HERONSWAY GLENMOOR 3?S COMPANY (Ch. Aberlee Storm Force ROMX x Ch. Heronsway Patriot?s Dream) Breeders/Owners: Anne Bowes & Pamela Davies. Red and white girl has a very pretty head. Rather unsettled today and topline needs to firm up.

PUPPY BITCHES, 6-9 MONTHS

1. HERONSWAY MILESTONE SPINNAKER (Ch. Milestone Regatta x Ch. Heronsway Send In the Clowns) Breeders/Owners: Anne Bowes & Donna Gilbert. This red and white girl caught my eye right away with her lovely outline and ideal proportions. She held her level topline and moved well in all directions. A pretty head, nice feet, and shown in beautiful condition. Pleased to award her BEST PUPPY IN MATCH.

2. WINDHAMLAIR CHARLOTTE?S WEB (Ch. Sandfox Orion of Redbrook x Windhamlair Ivysedge Clarke) Breeder/Owner: Pamela Mills Cone VMD. Another quite together pup with good side movement. Preferred head type of #1.

3. ROSE HAVEN?S TEA FOR TWO (Ch. Windcrest Pilgrims Pride x Rose Haven?s Tea for Two) Breeders/Owners: Susan Gorman & Jennifer McGee. An attractive sable, but rather unsettled today. Somewhat wide in front coming at you.

PUPPY BITCHES, 9-12 MONTHS

1. MILESTONE CUPID?S BOW (Ch. Sandfox Medaglia D?Oro x Ch. Milestone Doubles Partner) Breeders: Carolann Van Wyen & Donna Gilbert. Owner: Donna Gilbert A light sable with a shorter, stockier body type and a pretty head. Good side movement.

2. SANDFOX RAGS TO RICHES HT (Ch. Sandfox Flying Finish CD, HSAs, MX, AXJ VCX ROMX x Ch. Sandfox Touch Gold. Breeder: Vicki Sandage, D.V.M. Owners: Carol Donnelly and Vicki Sandage. Quite the opposite of #1, with a much longer, lower body type. At this stage, stands close in front, and I prefer a darker eye. Very well presented.

BITCHES, 12-18 MONTHS

1. MAR-WIL HEARTWOOD AVASTAR (Ch. Sandfox Orion of Redbrook x Mar-Wil Rosher Five Star Chili) Breeders/Owners: Annie Baker & Camilla Thorne. This light red and white bitch has a lovely outline, with a very pretty feminine head and sweet expression. She has a nice length of neck blending into well laid back shoulders. Moved well in all directions. Not totally in coat today, should be unbeatable when she is
BEST ADULT and BEST IN MATCH

2. WALBORAH BOJOJAMILE AMULET (Ch. Dwynella Custom Made x Bojojamile Brush Wood) Breeders/Owners: Deborah Harper & Valerie Hutton. Another well proportioned girl with a pretty head and good side movement. A shorter-coated type, and forechest needs to drop a bit more.

3. JORASH FOXWAY CARAVELLE (Anwyl Winds O Change x Ch. Jorash Foxway Showboat) Breeder: Ellen Schusterson. Owners: Ellen Schusterson & Amy Schiebenpflug. A red and white with a shorter body type than # 2 above. Again, good mover, but not as feminine as above.

1. ROSE-HAVEN?S TEA FOR TWO (Ch. Heronsway Time After Time x Ch. Heronsway Sweet Sixteen) Breeders/Owners: Susan Gorman and Jennifer McGee. Overall a nice sable bitch. A short upper arm gives the appearance of needing forechest. Good side movement.
